Race Day
The 5K and 5 Mile Run are not capped at this time.
There are no pacers for the Tammany Turkey Trot 5K or the 5 Mile Run.
Runners will self-seed in corrals according to their expected finish times. Corrals with pace signs will be marked in the start chute. The faster runners will be in the front, the slower runners will be in the back. All corrals have the same race start time with no set time gaps or delays between the corrals. Please pay attention to race announcements, on-site signage and instructions.
We encourage you to invite friends and family to cheer you on along the course, but they are only allowed to run with you if they are registered runners. Per USA Track & Field rules, elements that could impede the safety of runners, such as bikes, skates, skateboards, strollers and pets on the course, are not allowed. The safety of our runners is our number one priority. By signing or clicking ’I Accept’ on any Tammany Turkey Trot registration race waiver, you are agreeing to abide by the Rules of Competition.
Yes, music devices with headphones are permitted to use on the course; however, participants must be alert to their surroundings at all times and must pay attention to important announcements made at the start line and on the course.
Lost & Found is located near the awards area. After the event, please contact info@tammanyturkeytrot.com to see if items were turned in. Clothing items left in the start areas and along the course are immediately donated to charity and are not kept in Lost & Found.
Gear Check
No. The distance and timing of the event do not warrant a Gear Check. Any items dropped or left unattended at the race are done so at your own risk. Unattended bags will be dealt with by security and police personnel.
Parking
Parking is available on the streets and in public lots around the race site. Normal parking rules and fees will apply and be aware of NO PARKING SIGNS for Race Day that will be posted.
Start & Finish
The 5K and 5 Mile Run will start near the St. Tammany Parish Justice Center (701 N. Columbia St., Covington, LA 70433). Detailed maps are posted online and emailed to all registered runners prior to the event.

The easiest way to find your family and friends after the race is to have a plan beforehand. Making plans to meet in the lot adjacent to the finish line is a good plan.
